The film is written and directed by Minneapolis-based, Eric Tretbar, who will also be in attendance. About, Girl Meets Bike: Danger, defiance, desire. When a young high school shop teacher buys her first motorcycle with her wedding dress money, she motors away from her controlling fiancée into a circle of motorcycle friends who are attracted but threatened by her newfound independence. As Kat learns to ride, her new friends vie for her affection, stirring jealousy, long-buried emotions, and the sexual tension that motorcycles arouse. In her quest for freedom, Kat must negotiate the difficult path of the novice and interpret the advice of her teachers: is it a subtle form of control? Or crucial knowledge, without which she might get herself killed?
